My friend and his wife came away with me and my girlfriend in our caravan last year they really enjoyed it and considering getting one themselves.

The issue is my friend has a peugeot 207 5 door 1.4 hdi looking at its towing weights it can tow upto 900kg using the 85% rule my caravavn only a light weight lunar meteorite 650kg and max of 900 kgs so on paper it should tow it, i have towed caravan with citroen xsara 1.4 petrol so i know it not going to fly along and alot of gear changing on inclines

my question is the body of the peugeot to small he only wants small caravan like mine 12ft

if so what other light weight caravan are there??? i kno the older vans are lighter

I tow my caravan with my classic Mini (see my image gallery)
Have a look for Fisher Holivan and Thompson Mini Glen - they were all built in the 60s and 70s to be towed by the Mini so are definately compact and lightweight!!
Also the Portafold is a classic, lightweight van.

They don't come along often but keep your eyes open and you may just get lucky.
I paid just £450 for my 1969 Holivan.

look at GOING caravans they are the lightest i know of .
