We have a 2007 Toyota Avensis Estate and have recently bought a 2004 used pennine fiesta. We have found that our car towball seems to be about 3inches higher than the fiesta's tow hitch meaning that when hitching up the fiesta is nose light.

We did not have this with our previous camper a commanche montana.

Does this happen sometimes? Is it normal for this to occour? Will weight in camper front locker compensate?

Sorry if this makes us sound stupid!!!! - Not come across this before

The towball should be between 350mm and 420mm from the ground to the centre of the ball.

Thats with the car loaded but no trailer attached.

Dont load the front locker too heavy. You must not exceed the towbar noseweight limit or the cars rear axle limit.

You need to load your trailer tent slightly front heavy, dunno how much it weighs but put gas bottles in front locker & weigh hitch on level ground, trailer level, 50-60kg noseweight will be ok.

With car loaded as well it should even things out. If trailer still tows slightly nose up its not a problem provided it tows ok.

Thanks for the advice. We've levelled the Fiesta, put the gas bottles in the front locker and measured the hitch height which is 360mm whilst the height of the car's towball is 420mm. Ive checked info which says the towbar is Ok. Does this seem right for the Pennine Fiesta?

Once you get the car loaded, that 3 inches difference could disappear!!
