Hi posting this question on behalf of my brother in law, he has a Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 petrol on a p reg.....he wants to know what caravan he would be able to tow if any?

I think the car is lucky to pull its self along never mind a caravan i think hes looking at a trailer tent.

depending on year of corsa, ive looked at three, 1200cc corsa,with towing limits from 500kgs to 850kgs.
you could tow an older caravan 80's etc as they are alot lighter, but i wouldnt want to say how long the clutch and engine would last.

We towed a Camplet Royal with M reg 1.2 Corsa, two adults and a large dog with all equipment, from NE Scotland to Yorkshire and back, albeit not very fast uphill but managed fine.

Saw one of those turtle teardrop on the last site I was on, I was really nice.

Tell your brother in law to look in the handbook. Tow capacities should be in the same place as axle weights etc. Alternatively, call vauxhall. The internet is a lousy place to look for hard facts, it contains far too much hearsay and too many bar stool experts.

Until he does, it might be worth ignoring all the above suggestions. It is entirely possible that his Corsa isn't rated for towing at all. A lot of small modern cars arn't.
