This is probably a really silly question, I am just wondering how everyone keeps there trailer plug dry. Our trailer is kept outside and we currently keep the plug in a plastic bag with cable ties around it, but water still has away of getting in, I would be grateful for any ideas on how other people manage this issue.

Try a rubber glove with slits the finger part and an elastic band round the wrist part. It will keep the plug dry and stop any water ingress and the slits allow it to breath without causing condensation which is just as bad as water getting in.

I bought a standard socket and bolted it to the front face of my trailer - plug stowed in there and 2 years later still as new inside when checked.

It you drape cable over hitch so plug is hanging down by hitch then put a strong plastic bag such as shopping bag over whole hitch & secure with bungee at back. Cut bottom corner off bag so any moisture can drain out & air can circulate. Also spray plug with WD40 before you stow it.

Don't you have a recess on the top of your A frame for the plugs to locate in?

Your better off leaving the plug open to the elements rather than put it in a rubber glover or plastic bag.

Condensation will form in a sealed bag causing corrosion as it will never be able to dry out.

If left to the elements it will get dried by air/wind circulating around it.

Spray with WD40 and tuck it under to avoid water running into the cable directly and leave it at that.
