I have a 2010 2.2iDTEC EX auto, pulls a 1475 MPTLM van with no problems (max tow weight for auto is 1500kgs) N W 100kgs, same as manual, av MPG towing 22-24, solo has averaged 35 mpg over last 6000 miles mixture of local and longer runs, max mpg I have achieved is 47 mpg but on the same run of 70 miles is usually 42 mpg. Detachable tow bar was £685 (twin electrics) fitted by main dealer, tends to hunt between 4th and 5th when towing but changes are very smooth, have never had to put in oil between services.
Some of the latest(new shape) model iDTEC are being recalled for a software update to prevent the DPF warning light coming on when there is no problem.
