Close to 100% match depending on engine and spec.

Is your Mondeo a new shape one?

I guess from the fact you say it is 140bhp that it is.

Both new & old Mondeos have a good reputation as towcars with a very healthy max tow weight. While the match is in excess of the 85% guide it should still be a good match.

please read a post i put on a few months ago

I'm looking at changing my car at the mo and was looking at the new mondeos and mondeo estate's at the weekend the brochure weight for the 2ltr tdci is 1557, however i've just taken a 2008 titanuim x hatch 2ltr tdci to the weight bridge next door and weighed it, 1630 kg empty with a full tank of fuel.the estate is around 20kg more.

This will make a 92% match with my caravan. which i'm more than happy with.

Take your car to a weight bridge to double check the weigh then work your percentage from that

I have to say that was a real shocker

Bessie

i dont know what weight your van is but as you can see from above it's best to get the car weighed so you know what your working with

The caravan weighs nearly 1500kg loaded so needs a noseweight of around 100kg. There have been several threads on here by owners of these 'vans complaining they cannot get noseweight down low enough for their car & blaming Bailey for 'poor design' when in fact the caravan is not suitable for the car & needs a 4x4 with suitable high towbar download to tow it.

Towing at 100% with inadequate noseweight achieved by loading caravan back heavy sounds like a recipe for disaster to me.
