Almost definately, a quick google has you van down as 1100kg laden. Your mondeo is around 1300-1600kg kerbweight (dependant upon model), putting you below 85% recomended for towing (whioch is good!). The only model which wouldn't be able to tow the van is the 1.6 petrol, I didn't even know they did a 1.6 petrol but it was on the table I just looked at.
Regarding your towing limits (post 97 license), with a payload of around 500kg (guess - because I know you're going to be well within the limits anyhow), your total train weight at worst case is 1600+500+1100=3200kg which is well within the limits.
On a side note: Even with a caravan of 1100kg this will in the future limit your choice of car with a post 97 license prohibitting you from getting a large 4x4 or pickup or MPV style vehicle though with taking the B+E test if you still want to use your caravan, but with a mondeo you'll be fine.
