Hello does anyone have any advice please- we have a witter tow bar and ball and sometimes (well nearly all the time) it really really creaks it sounds like it may be too tight? someone has told us to change  the tow ball to a alko? does anyone know if this would be right or any hints and tips please

Do you have standard  hitch or stabilizer hitch.  A hitch with friction pads may creak when fully engaged and a standard hitch without grease (metel to metal ) may creak?  Have you measured the ball size?

Do you check nose weight to make sure you are not exceeding limits.

I have AKS 2004 and it does creak a little.  I always release friction pads when doing slow manouvring.

Also you have a blade stabiliser then this will creak and groan and appear to come from the towball, if that is the case it needs striping down, the pads cleaning and then resetting. The only problem is that after you have done a couple of hundred miles it will be just as noisy again.
