I have a twin axle and whilst the mover will not turn the van in its own length but shuffles it around, it is very easy to control the van as it is moving slowly. You are outside of your car and can place yourself in any position around the van to see how close you are to any obstacle. If you have any problem, stop pressing the button and the van stops immediately.
As an ex artic driver, I seldom use it but it is bloody useful in some situations.
I used to tow a previous van with a BMW 525 diesel estate and it was prone to burning the clutch when reversing into awkward places. You should be okay if you stop as soon as you smell the burning and let it cool down but be aware that it has taken thousands of miles off the life of the clutch.
