Excuse me I'm not being horrible. If you ask things on a site expect answers I was merely trying to help I even looked online to find your cars kerb weight. I won't bother in future. An accident can happen in 4 minutes 40 minutes or 4 hours of towing. It's not an outfit I would feel comfitable towing but best of luck with your new car.

Hi Leebo we tow with the same car 7 speed auto 170, i think i will just give you my experiance and not to mutch tec stuff.
We started to tow our twin axle van to Cornwall towards the end of last summer, starting with the M5, loads of power kept having to back off the power to keep the speed down so no problem there.
On one occasion the outfit became unstable when i reached 63 mph the stability control cut in took control and stabalised the outfit, when this happened the car went into safe mode (restricted power) for acouple of miles and it then reset itself and everything went back to normal.   brill tow car.
Set my max to 60.
A30 (loads of big long hills) EASY.
Second trip but with one differance, this time i fitted a roof box on the car, stability improved a lot and on occasions i was hitting 70 without knowing it and yes i did slow down.
97% towing match
Thats how it was with me, no bull s-it im sure im now going to be pulled to to bits by some members of the forum
Lets know your own experiance when you start to tow.
Previous tow cars ( granada,disco,sorento.

Doesn't sound like a brilliant tow car.  Instability and safe mode...  We don't have any of that.

Blair, when I'm doing the 'school run' I hardly think I'd have a caravan on the back! Not sure what point you're trying to make. That lots of families buy them because they have a great safety rating?

Kojak, glad to hear good critisim instead of all these wannabees. i have towed with it, like you say plenty of power, no problems with stability, especially with the caravan having IDC on it.

Are they expensive then?
Leebo, you seem to know how much money everybody has. How do you do it?

I can't see why the price comes into it, but it's not what I would choose as a towcar.

Just seen it, about £34K.
I normally spend quite a bit more than that, but I still wouldn't buy it, even as an economy measure.
