130hp Galaxy here. Brilliant tow car. Very very stable while towing. Real world consumption 35mpg, towing 27mpg. Love ours to bits. It's just so practical. The Galaxy owners club, fgoc.co.uk has loads of info, & there's a good few caravaners on there. Great for advice.

takisawa, that will have the vw engine exactly the same as in the supeb, but slightly less MPG due to its size

Nelmo I can see from that Website why you would question my mpg. However virtually every Landcruiser on that US site is a V8 Petrol & there gallon is less than our Imperial.

You can filter to only show diesels (drop down list at the top of the screen) and there is an option to display in UK gallons (top left), which is already selected on my link.

I think we can discount that website. According to that my old Ford Explorer (4.0 petrol) is more economical - or roughly the same - as a 3.0 Diesel Landcruiser. I know they are not!!! - Although I agree on the Explorer figures

Hi there,I tow a coachman twin axle that comes in at 1500kg top weight.
I use a 2800tdi lwb mitsubushi shogun.if finances are tight (like mine)you can pick up a good one reasonably cheap they are comfy and easy to drive.Fuel economy is not the best18/23 but i never have any problems with it, and it pulls like a train.(unlike range rover horror stories i hear 13/16 mpg 2.5 auto, electrical failures air suspension total failure)Most shogun owners are fanatical with them so a good example should be easy to find.
Hope this helps a little in the minefield lol

I disagree - that website is not guessing/estimating/calculating data from a brochure - it is from real people using their cars day-to-day. No rolling roads, no planned routes driven like a nun. Yes, you can ignore extremes (very high and very low figures) but the averages tell the real-world story.

I do my car on there and its a painful truth that I get rubbish mpg because of the way we use the car...
