Hi

I have a Nissan Primera T-Spec, 2.0L 5 door automatic  (04)

Kerbweight - 1359

85% - 1155

Towing Capacity - 1500 (got all this info off uktow.com)

I really wanted to get a Lunar Quasar 615 (the one with fixed bunk beds) but fellow UKCampsiters have put me right on that score - it's far too heavy.

So........................  I'm now looking for a nudge in the right direction of lightweight vans, I previously owned a Swift Azzura 490L & loved it but would love to look at other options, so any suggestions would be great.

Thanks very much

I don't know how old or new you're looking at but a lunar zenith four or five might fit the bill :)

You may need to look at changing to a more suitable tow car in order to get a good 4-5 berth van.

However if you don't mind buying an older van, there are a few that would be within your vehicle's towing capabilities if you're not too fussy about wanting a specific layout.

These are all 4 berth options:
* 2004/2005 Lunar Chateau 400 - MTPLM 1150kg
* 2004 Lunar Zenith Sport - MTPLM 1100kg
* 2006 Lunar Zenith 4 - MTPLM 1150kg
* 2002 Bailey Discovery 200 - MTPLM 1122kg
Also look at some of the Going range of vans.

This might help:

A four berth bailey ranger will come in around 1179kg MTPLM so should also be ok. There is normally loads of these around at dealers as they were a lightweight and popular van. We just P/X''d our 470/4 2007 model in this month. For a 2007 one you would probably be looking around £7500. The main factor will be the age / size of any children and checking that the side dinette bed & bunk are suitable. We found this a good lightweight van and only changed it due to us now having a bigger tow car and wanting an end bedroom for the baby to sleep in at night.

If you were looking at new there is also the Bailey Orion range which come in a 4 or 5 berth option. The 4 berth is 1249kg 5 berth comes in at 1287kg so it will depend on the actual kerbweight of your car (as mentioned in the other thread pop along to a weighbridge and see what it comes in at).
