My wife asked me a question today which l thought was abit silly. Her question is when  we  leave the caravan anywhere our insurance states that hitchlock and wheel clamps must be fitted, so for example at a motorway service station, or while on site. We are  planning our summer holidays abroad and this is her question will we have to fit hitchlock and wheelclamps to our twin-axle van while on the ferry, l said don't be dafted who is going to steal a caravan  on a ferry in the middle of the English channel.

Is this a silly question?

The only silly question is the one you don't ask, I'll let you guess the answer to this one though.

TonyDD,

I've been on many ferries and have actually been told to remove my hitchlock in case of emergencies, the ferry operators may/might need to move/uncouple cars or caravans.

Not much chance of anyone stealing your caravan on a ferry I'd have thought !!.

Jamsie
