Ya get some lengthy 2 wheeled single axled caravans these days.  They are cheaper of course.  Are they any the worse for it?

Have towed both and there is not a lot of difference.  The single axles tend to bounce about a bit more but you tend to "feel" safer with the twin axle.  All in the mind of course.

Picking up on Tango55's point, the only reason you need a mover is to line up the wheels to fit those silly ( but secure ) Al-Ko locks.  I think in 4 years I have only used it once on a site with particularly narrow, tree lined roads.  Otherwise the twin axle reverses like a single.
