Hi looking and looking for towing service in Glasgow to tow our caravan to a seasonal sight. Been quoated £380 for tow bat to be fitted, this is our first caravan, and we would like to get it pitched in one sight and spend holidays and weekends, as there is still some work to be done. Does any one know of proper company near Glasgow that does this, as i keep getting directory but nothing 100% profesional, all seem to be someone with towbar.

People have tried but its not really a full time business.

Its too seasonal and random to rely on for a living.

Could be weeks between jobs and nothing at all during the winter.

The big issues are, Reputable? Make sure they are not just a mobile or someone that will vanish the 1st call you make to complain.

Insurance... Is the van covered if they damage it or hitch up and vanish with it.

Don't you know any other caravan owners with a vehicle capable of towing your van to a site, for a small fee. Really don't think you will get a company that solely does caravan moving as previously stated.

The only other people you could try are a breakdown recovery firm.

Hi and thanks to all replies, we have had a quote from Buchans for £380 for tow bar, but seems a large sum to pay for a one of move,ie our driveway to our designated all year sight. Our caravan is pretty old, we dont want to be towing all over as yet.... maybe in the near future new caravan we will do, but we know we have 2 years max with this caravan, just want to pitch in some nice place for weekends and holidays, dont want to pay £380 for something that we will only use onced.Just need company that will tow it for us to our designated area.

if you dont want to pay £380 for a towbar, why not just get someone with a towbar to tow it for you, you can also follow them or go with them in the car, and someone follow you. Dont see any other option. Where is it you want it taken from and to where, might be able to help you out.

High ment to say, you said the caravan is old, and still some work needed. you would need to make sure that all the tyres, brakes and lights are operational, before anyone takes it, other than on the back of a pickup.
