My parents really like the look of the rav4. The first one they saw had a spare wheel on the back door, since then they can't see any.
Do some have the space saver type in the boot or are they all on run flat tyres?
They are probably looking at 57 to 09 ish plates if that makes a difference.
My dad NEVER shows an interest in cars so if you can help that would be fantastic, otherwise back to the drawing board.
Thanks again
Nicky
Forgot to say max weight they would tow would prob be about 1460kg
Tyre repair kit is standard. You should insist on a full size spare wheel. Carry it in the rear if dealer is unable to offer a fix to 'fifth' door. However not having a rear mounted spare wheel does make for an easier hook up.
I had a look on Auto Trader and there are a few 07 & 08 Rav4's with spare wheels on the back.so it could be an option.
There is an active RAV4 forum where someone mentioned a TPS system on RAV's [tyre pressures].
Weight of caravan should be OK - JUST! Figures taken from latest brochure.
Rav4 kerbweights depending on model vary from 1510-1565 2.0 petrol up to 1615-1650 for 2.2D-CAT 150 6A/T.
The spare wheel on door on later RAV depends on model, some have them, some don't. Many modern cars don't have spare wheels at all, they just have a repair kit that inflates & repairs punctured tyre for temporary repair. Works for small hole like nail in tread but not for large hole or sidewall split.
