Hi HELP and ADVICE needed.   We have a peugeot 407 saloon (factory fitted sensors) fitted with a witter detachable towbar. We were told that we would be able to swap the towbar   to a peugeot 407 sw estate.   So we have now decided to buy a 407 sw estate only to be told the towbars are  different !!!!!!!!!! does anyone now if this is correct.

That sounds about right who said the were the same ??

yes, if you look here at the Towsure site, you can see the model number of the towbars are different for each model.

towbars are designed to fit only the type of car you have,ie.type approval.a 407 saloon should not fit any other model.

Sometimes just a different model spec or different bumpers will mean a different towbar model.

Saloon to estate swapping very very unlikely.

Half the VW/SEAT/Skoda models are the same floor pan but the small changes each manufacturer make mean most are not interchangable.

thanks for your fast replies even though I have got to find another £300 plus for another towbar oh well the joys of caravanning (not so cheap hobby)

Ps anybody want a saloon towbar x
