WE used to have a Zafira 150 (where the username comes from) & it was a very worthy towcar.
The 120 models are restricted to 1300 kg for the manuals or 1400kg for the autos.
However, unless you are getting a SRi model you also loose the sports suspension & standard ESP that all 150hp models are fitted with. I am not sure if the softer suspension of the 120bhp non SRi models would affect the towing greatly, but with the sports suspension there was little sag even with a reasonably full boot & 75kg of noseweight. We towed a 1482kg caravan with our's.
I personally wouldn't use a tow car that didn't have ESP so for me that would be the decider.
