Does anyone have experience of using a 'TDI-tuning' box on a 2.0 Hdi Picasso. I could do with a bit more pulling power to tow my elderly Swift 440/4 Rapide, MTPLM 950Kg. The Picasso is '54 reg and has about 110,000 on the clock.

Whats the price of a remap ?
Depending on what you want from £250 to £400, just google diesel remap and check out the company's that do it
Some of them will send you a small plug and play unit all you do is plug it into the diagnostic port and it downloads you can even remove the map and reinstall it when you need it
Mixed results from the bluefin devices. Dont perform as well as expected on the rolling road.
The cheap boxes that plugin to the fual rail wont give you an extra 30 or 50 bhp.
A remap with increased fuelling and additional boost pressure will get you around those figures.
But you wont from just upping the fuel pressure.
Mate recently picked up a mondeo with one fitted, Its leaking fuel from the injector seals. No way to tell how high teh fuel pressure is, Because the box gives the ECU a false reading.
I know I bang the drum for Skoda, but a Skoda dealer will also tune up there cars for a small fee, with no effect on the insurance premiums, as the car came from the dealer and was not taken to a tuner by the owner, and does not affect the warranty, allegedly the whole VW group can do this.
A proper remap is the right way to go though, as everything can be checked in house
