wife and i are going away for the weekend (dont get many) I never had this problem before. The wife normally packs even the kitchen sink lol
Because its only for a weekend i dont have enough in the van to give me 70kg's nose weight and im not taking the awning. Can this be a problem only every thing i have in the van (apart from pots and pans and the like, is up front but only getting 55-60 kg's. will this be enough. there is probably an obvious answer but i have always managed to hit 70kg's without any problem before lol. Thanks

From what I understand it just as bad to have nose weight under, try putting some stuff in your locker.
That's exactly right, IT IS just as bad to have a reduced noseweight as it can cause instability especially when braking. What Aceselect has suggested is good advice by increasing the weight in the front locker.
Never mind what the vans should be just keep it less than the cars designated noseweight. I find 70kg is fine, and when I drove a rover 820 with a noseweight limit of 50kg that was also fine.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013
