That will be 800 kgs braked and 500 kgs unbraked. Not sure what the 1200 is though because if it is 1200kgs then you can probably do it but I can't imagine towing a Sterling with a Mini. I used to pull our 2005 Pennine Fiesta which was 750kgs with my 1.4 MG ZR (same size as a Rover 25 but with a bit more oomph) and it was OK but you could feel it on anything other that level roads. My limit is 1000kgs braked but then so is my OH's MG and his is a ZS 2.5 v6 so it's all about the car not the engine size.
