will my

saab 93 2.2td 2002 front wheel drive

tow a hobby 540 easy delux 2003 says on metal plate below door 1500kg

need to know asap due to about to buy asap

can't fathom out the sites that get you to work out ratios and can't find in my manual

all to technical but i can rely on your advice

Have you tried one of the sites that work it all out for you?   You didn't really ought to be relying on the guidance of random strangers on the internet!

I've put the details into one of the sites and it says it's 89% which is usually regarded as high BUT I've guessed at the exact caravan details. You'll have to input the car and van details again as it won't link to the result

Look at the site, it's very straightfoward here

This site would suggest not as the caravan would be above the cars kerbweight


it suggests that the   kerbweight of your car is between 1325kg and 1410kg and towing a 1500kg caravan with such a car is not to be recommended. Without information from the cars V5 document about the Mass in running order, and from the cars vin plate giving the max groos weight of the car together with its max train weight it is impossible to say whether it would be legal or not.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013

i think the only person who will say yes, Maybethe person flogging you the car or caravan.

Although its legal, Its not really ideal.

How experienced are you at towing?

You need to take extra care as the caravan could easily take control.

Personally i wouldnt even think about doing it, Its legal but legal doesnt mean safe.
