What is the difference between gross vehicle weight and car kerb weight?

my cars vin says gross vehicle weight is 2210kg and gross train weight is 4210kg, my caravan MTPLM is 1247kg?

what is my cars Kerb weight?

I'm now not sure of the current rules regarding kerbweight but it used to something like the weight of the car including a full tank of fuel and the driver.

In a way it does not really matter as it's the gross weight which counts and that is the maximum weight that the car can be when loaded.

Your train weight of course is the total of the gross weight plus anything that you are towing so according to your figures if you were at your maximum gross weight then you could tow something that weighs 2 ton.

Can you tell me EXACTLY what the kerb weight of my car is in figures,

If somebody asked me I can tell them the gross weight of the car and the total weight of my caravan, but if they asked me "what is the kerb weight of your car" what do I reply?

It might help if you told us what the car is - try looking at the manufacturer's site.
Why would anybody want to know the kerb weight anyway?

What year mondeo? MK4 ?

Hatch/Saloon/Estate they all vary.

And no the kerbweight wont be anywhere near 2000kg.

More like 1500kg.

Ideally a caravan with a gross laden weight of 1300kg.

I can't remember the weight of my Mondeo 2.2 Titanium x now but I weighed it before putting a towbar on it and you'll have no problem pulling your van with your Mondeo.

Ours pulls our Paneant Provence series 7 with ease & I had to keep an eye on my speed. You won't know the caravan's on the back. Brilliant towcar.
