The Towcar is a 2012 Seat Altea XL SE TDI DSG 5 Door   
We go away on the Fri 28th Sept to Daisy Bank Mid Wales 165 miles from home and then onto York 166 miles
This will be its first tow do i go at a steady 55mph
The Route is M1 A38 M6 M54 A5 (Wales)
What the best advise can you give me

If you read the handbook it should tell you that the advice is to do a thousand miles before towing a caravan. It's best to check first otherwise your vehicle warranty could be void. Travelling at 55 mph. should be fine but as the car is relatively new just keep an eye on the engine coolant for over-heating especially if any hill climbing is involved.

Prior to getting my new car I contacted and spoke with the manufacturers about this subject. We have cancelled one holiday and increasing the one at the end of September so the guidelines are adhered to so the warranty on my car is valid and will not be void through any mistakes on my part,

If you only spoke to someone then that's only verbal advice so I presume you have nothing guaranteed in writing then? You really need the information written in black and white as it should be identical as to what is stated in the corresponding handbook.

It is now Sunday 5th August i have owned the car 16 days and done 300 miles already we do not go away until  Friday 28th Sept  2012 .                                         (I have also got written proof and that has been put  in my service book from Seat uk this should be the end of this matter) ..............     .

Well if you have written conformation then that's fine and agreed that it's the end of the matter but you didn't exactly state that in your previous post. You said that you had spoken to them which is not the same. But hey who cares! I'm not a solicitor defending your case, I was only trying to give sound advice that's all. Have a safe journey

I had the same issue last year, i got my new mondeo 10 days before we had a 350 mile tow. I managed to put about 800 miles on it before we set off.

The car was fine fuel economy was down compared to this years figures but other than that everything went well. When i checked the hand book a couldnt find anything ref running the engine in, Brakes and clutch ??/ yes but not engine.
