A friend of a friend is selling a Hobby 650 KFU, but says it's so big, they can't legally tow it. Not the weight issue, just I guess the width/length of it. They use it pretty much as a static.
Can someone fill me in? The usefulness of a caravan with wheels that can't be towed is lost on me.
Think it's about a 2008 but can't find the tech specs at the mo.
Thanks Peter. I saw on the directgov site it says "The width limit for any towing vehicle is 2.55 metres. The length limit is 7 metres for a trailer towed by a vehicle weighing up to 3.5 tonnes (3,500 kilograms)"
Where does the 7 metres start, does anyone know? Is it from the towbar of the car, just the van or the van including the towing arm at the front ?
Mark is correct, our trailer is 6.22 metres in the body and we usually book it in a 8m on Stena Line's website. Don't be conned by Police who say it includes the A-frame, it doesn't.
We tow with a Discovery 2 as the trailer/RV is just under 3.5 tonnes loaded.
