As i know lots of you on here have kia sorento tow cars i was wondering if someone could help me. is it normal for the kia sorento's fuel gauge read how much fuel is in the car when the ignition is turned off and the keys are out?? most cars drop to zero when the ignition is turned off please help using it as our first tow car this weekend and it is making me worry.

Just been out to check because I couldn't remember! Yes - the needle still registers when the ignition is switched off. So no need to worry!

Now I am really confused... Are you both sure in what you are saying. One person says there gauge stays up and another. Says there's drops to zero I don't understand this?

We have a '56 XS so there must have been changes during that year. I'm quite sure you have nothing to worry about. As long as the gauge goes down as you use the fuel I can't see a problem. We've had at least two other cars which have continued to register the fuel in the tank when the ignition is off.

some do and some don't. I have a shogun that stays up as did my Suzuki Vitara. Our Ford drops to zero when switched off. Just depends on the design of the gauge.

It's perfectly normal in loads of cars The only time to worry is if the pattern changes i.e. did your gauge ever go down?
