Hi Guys,

Just purchased a New Van,Unfortunately we now need a Towing Vehicle,

My brother is selling his 2006 Audi A4 Avant S Line Tdi 140 Kerbweight 1600.

Now I cant find the Data for the Vehicle on any of the Outfit Matchup Sites??

The Van MTPLM---1450   MIRO----1180

Just wondered if any of you kind people out their can give me a Helping Hand??

The car itself will be powerful enough as i am assuming it is the 2 litre version with 140. If the van is fully loaded then you will be around 89% which is marginally over the 85% recommendation but still safe if driven safely and correctly, obviously that weight allows for a driver and a full tank of gas but realistically it will be loaded with kit and family etc too. I had the 2006 A6 avant and it was actually 103kgs heavier according to the plate under the bonnet than stated in all the brochures etc so check that too as it may make a difference. the only other issue is the S line is very low so not sure if that will be a problem when towing.

No problem with that - you will probably find that the weight is actually 1630kg if you investigate as above (mine was) so would be around 90% with an unladen car. Power wise no problem and I never had any stability problems towing at a similar ratio.
No doubt somebody will completely disagree.

We have the Audi Allroad S line and no problems with height towing our FC so shouldn't think a caravan would be any different.

We have the same one and towed our 1420 van no problem. It is low, but not enough to cause any problems. It's not so good in the snow though, so I'm not sure it would be really good in muddy cl's. I suppose it depends on your tyres.
All in all a good car, my husband loves it.

To add to my previous comments, I have had 3 A4 Avant S-line and have not had any problem with 'height', the stiffer suspension aids the towing. We use CLs regularly and have never been stuck because of poor traction. In last winter's snow our current A6 got through situations which halted the rear wheel drive Mercs and BMWs as well as many of the popular makes and it does have very low profile wide tyres.

Yep, the Skoda Octavia and Audi A4 are identical.

The A4 may be built on a bigger chassis with a longer wheelbase, but they are actually identical.

Oh, and Skoda has its engines transversely mounted, whilst the A4 has its engines longitudinally mounted, but they are still identical.

Also, then Skoda uses steel suspension components, but the A4 uses light aluminium alloy for the bulk of its suspension.

So, apart from its chassis, its engines and its suspension, its body panels, interior trim and its glass, the two cars are identical.

And I keep getting mistaken for Brad Pitt

So is it fair to say the only thing in common is that they are both from the
