Hi all. I have recently acquired a Super Sprite 390/2 1993 and want to fit an AL-KO 3004 hitch stabilizer but am unsure as to the make of the chassis/A frame draw bar. I have looked in the Handbook, there is no info as to has made the Chassis. The other problem I am facing is the tow hitch. It appears to have one bolt through the coupling head and a further bolt through the overrun shaft, unlike the alko stabilizer which has the two bolts that go horizontal. Can anyone advise me re: the make of the chassis (e.g. is it an AL-KO) and do I put the bolts through both vertically and horizontally. I would be most grateful for any guidance.
Thanks

When you fit the Alko stabiliser it should come as a kit which comprises of 3 sleeves (shaped like a letter 'U' about 4" long) for different diameter draw bars which will either be 47mm., 48mm. or 50mm. diameter plus a hardened dowel about 10mm. diameter to hold the draw bar back whilst interchanging the hitches. A 1993 model would most probably have a 48mm. diameter draw bar so the middle size shell would be used. I'm not sure what make of chassis it would be but I don't think this would pose any problem regarding changing hitches at all providing you use the right size sleeve. What type of hitch are you replacing, is it the standard steel type that are used on most trailers or is it something different?
