Has any one got a tow bar to suit renault scenic 1.9tdi.
new or used.

Problem with used ones you never know hows its been treated.

It could be off a car thats had a rear end smash.
Costs too much to have them checked for stress and cracks so cheaper for the insurance to replace them.

Seen several for sale to fit a Mondeo and they have been incomplete. It would be dangerous if fitted by someone that didnt know that.

Several proper business sellers on ebay. Its worth it.

You need to watch the train weights on the renaults. It can be quite low. The towing limits maybe with a driver only.

Adding passengers and luggage reduces the towing limit.

There are at least 2 versions of the Scenic so you'll have to give more details to ensure that you get the correct bar.

There are different versions of towbar for the Renault Scenic depending on the year  of manufacture etc. so you need to make sure you have the right one that fits your particular model. I also advise too to buy a new towbar if possible so the company you purchase it from will take the registration number and fit or despatch the right towbar to you. Have a look at the link under Renault as it not only gives you their fixed and detachable towbar prices but also the noseweight and towing limits for that specific vehicle which should be of help.

Hi, did you get a towbar, if not i have one with single electrics, just took it off when i sold my scenic its great easy to diy fit, i ended up getting a removeable for my new scenic. it will fit a scenic 2, 03-09. Stu

Be careful with the above link, it contains mistakes. Rates the Honda jazz as being able to tow 1500kg, that's 500kg more than Honda's max limit.

Never trust the figures on the net and that goes for my figures also.

For some odd reason your particular car/van may have a silly low limit.

At least its now fairly standard to have the tow limits on the V5.

Makes it easy for you to check and i guess thats the figures they will use when stopped.
