DON`T read this is you`re of an unstable disposition!  But when you use a stabiliser, (or even when you don`t, but to a lesser degree) there will be a greatly increased noseweight given certain road conditions which everybody encounters from time to time albeit spasmodically.  Like going over a speed bump faster than you should `ve.  You`ll appreciate no doubt that, for this friction device to work, the flexibility between car and caravan is reduced more than somewhat.  The momentum of the caravan and the resistance of the stabiliser will therefore determine the increased load on the towball.

Something for you technocrats to think of . . . . .  These are my simple thoughts; feel free to disagree!!

The imposed load on the towbar will vary continuously while the outfit is under way. Any extra load that the stabiliser might impose is of no consequence, there is plenty of leeway above the quoted download maximum for the car.

Maximum noseweights have all this taken into consideration. There is no doubt a formula to work out what happens when a noseweight of X kg is towed and just how much this varies under varying conditions. Obviously we cannot measure the noseweight as we drive never mind adjust it so manufacturers give the maximum static noseweight and do the calculations for us.
Different conditions affect this though so don't be afraid to play a bit with the noseweight if it improves stability.

The stabiliser doesnt add to the noseweight, Well not any more than the weight of the stabiliser itself.

The downward load from the stabiliser is acting on the ball only.

Its like adding a G clamp to secure the hitch onto the ball. No extra download other than the weight of the G-Clamp.

So the downward force onto the ball is greater, But because the brackets are attached at that point also.
IT adds no extra dowward force (noseweight) to the actual towcar.

Add a stabiliser and the cars suspension doesn't move. No extra load has been applied.
