The wheels on a trailer or caravan also have to be capable of supporting the weight. For example if you examine the back of a caravan alloy wheel amongst the other information it also shows the weight carrying capacity of the wheel. eg mine say 750 kg each giving a total of 1500kg the pair. wheels from a car are not as strong as those built for a trailer or caravan. Alko 4 stud wheels are 4 x 100 PCD so you might find some from an older caravan.
