Hi all , i have had my 407sw for a few months now, i tow an abbey vogue gts 516 caravan with it mltpm 1300 , on my first towing i went to york and on encoutering spped bumps with the car fully loaded was scrapping on speed bumps. I have since had the MAD springs fitted that should stop bottoming out and has given me a harder ride. I have not yet been back out with the caravan i was just wondering if fellow 407sw owners have any problems over speed bumps on the road and the ridiculously high ones on entering mainly caravan club sites. thanks in advance Tony

Hi Tony I also tow with a 2007 407 sw towing a Lunar clubman with the same weight as your Abbey and have had no problems with speed bumps. The only downfall with this model is the noseweight is 65Kg so you need to load the caravan evenly,
Regards Graham

Peugeot 407 has low noseweight limit (60 -65 kg model dependant) as the previous post mentions .
From what you say I think your way over the limit if your car is bottoming out .
I would get Milenco nose weight gauge as there accurate and load your caravan accordingly

Hi Tony
Mainly judge the noseweight by eye, looking at the van & car to see if it looks low,I know this is'nt the best method but it has served me well over the years.
Hopefully the weathers going to be dry over the weekend fingers crossed as i'm off to Skirlington, have a good weekend yourself.
Regards Graham

"Mainly judge the noseweight by eye, looking at the van & car to see if it looks low,I know this is'nt the best method but it has served me well over the years." i had to laugh at that one! I use an old pair of b`room scales that the wife rejected due to a supposed high reading . . . it turns out she`s the same weight as the noseweight allowance on our Berlingo . . . . .What can a guy say? Tooo late, I said it . . heh heh.

Glad to bring a smile to someone but as stated this has served me well with no problems since starting out in 1982 towing with a Rover 2000 P6 / Thompson Glenelg & various other outfits up until now so must be doing something right, I suppose theres no substitute for experience
