We are going away tomorrow too, trying out the new CC site at Strathclyde Park. Haven't checked the weather for our area but if it is windy we can stay off the motorway and stick to the more sheltered A roads. Could you do the same?

In September on my way to Dunkirk, got caught up in some very strong winds on the last 40 mile stretch to the port. The van rocked with the buffeting, had bikes on the car roof, the car rocked, no where to pull in, just dropped the speed to 40mph and every thing was fine, even when HGV’s were passing. When parked up on the docks the van was still rocking. Yes the ferry was on time, but could not dock in Dover due to the winds.
Just take it easy.
We travelled over the Therwall Viaduct in Cheshire in extremely high winds a couple of weeks ago which was abit unsettling to say the least! My advise would be the same as other members to keep to a steady speed and keep your wits about you, don't be put off travelling and enjoy your holiday.
Hi Everyone, Fantastic Advise, I have a back up route avoiding motorways if its bad but it seems to be dying down. And as your all saying steady goes as the wind increses. Just want to get there now lol . Hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable weekend in the caravans
