Wondering if anyone owns and tows with one of these cars. Caravan MTPLM would be 1200kg, possibly even slightly less.
Its a 2009 having done 26,000mls.From reading posts on hear the engine seems to be reliable if you get regular oil changes which I do every 5,000mls on any car anyway.

I quite like the look and space it affords, it will be mostly used by just myself and my wife, the grandchildren on occasion and dog in the back..

Would appreciate any advise as am seriously thinking of buying one and I will get a good deal as its my son in laws garage I would be buying from but just wanted a caravaners perspective as a towcar. Thanks in advance,,

I tow with one, the 110bhp version, only a 700kg caravan though & its ok with that. Only problem you will have with 1200kg caravan is that the earlier Berlingo3 '08 to '11 only allow 55kg towbar download(noseweight)which may be insufficient for 1200kg caravan, ie could be an unstable tow. Later models have different rear chassis & allow 70kg noseweight. Otherwise, good car, I've has mine from new in '09 & now 40k miles up with no issues.

Mmmm..back to the drawing board. We were thinking of downsizing to a smaller car able to tow a small lightweight caravan but find the choice and size of suitable caravans limited.

My Berlingo is 2013 and a multispace 1.6 hdi and it states on the Hand book that the 5 seater are 55kg nose weight.
But all the 7 seaters are 70kg nose weight. this is cars aged from 2008 to 2015 +

Current 5 seater diesel models are back to 70kg as stated in handbook & also on towbar plate. Various models have different noseweight despite identical bodywork. Identical Peugeot Partner has different noseweight from Berlingo. Petrol & diesel models have different weights. Enquiries to Citroen UK can throw no light on it & nor can Citroen Frannce. The mystery thickens eh? Not so much a science but a black art.

Just enjoy your caravanning, I would.
