This is not an English exam but a means of interchanging ideas. The points raised are very valid and, as a retired Police traffic officer, I can confirm that a major part of our training required forward observation and adopting a 'hangback' position to avoid getting into dangerous situations. It has served me well over the years.
Exactly tentz you have said it as it is. The unfortunate thing being that you cannot train the mind of an idiot, those who drive way too close, too fast and have the retarded habit of continually driving on the wrong side of the white line, especially whilst coming round blind bends. Then there are the clowns who continually use phones and other gadgets whilst driving, won't go there, makes my blood boil.
Professional drivers such as long distance, ambulance and indeed the police invariably have seen far more than casual drivers ever will.
However prediction of which way the marbles will roll inside the head of some of these inept dangerous drivers is not something that other road users can control and often predict.
The number of deaths on the roads is something that no one seems too bothered about in the government after all we are driving on roads that were created many years ago when the volume of traffic was merely a fraction of what it is today.
The government seem to accept the death toll on our roads in a blasé and casual manner. This comment can be justified by the fact that they are prepared to spend billions on a totally unnecessary new rail system when indeed the road system of the UK is creaking at the seams, by such inaction can they not be deemed complicit in the 1,901 deaths on UK roads during 2011, at least that is my take on the situation ?
