How much do you want to spend? If only a few £100s, smaller 2 berth caravans of 20odd yrs old are generally under 900kg all up, see ebay. If you want something newer or new then your choice is more limited, Freedom, Eriba or Sterckeman for example.
yeh looking for something fairly modern four birth, but the only ones i have really come across which are lightweight are the sterckemans! Dont seem many about though!

They are French built, only one UK dealer I think. Same one that imports Freedoms which are built in Poland. UK makers don't seem to produce lightweight low spec basic caravans anymore.
Or a Dandy Destiny, 6 berth, insulated walls & roof. It is not a folding camper with canvas sides & roof but a very soldly built folding caravan with PVC roof etc. Average caravan lasts 12 years, Dandy 25 or more.
Very easy to tow & store, much lower fuel consumption and the PVC means you can put it away in the rain & not need to dry it out when you get home.
The Destiny has 2 fixed double beds and a dining table which converts to a third double. Wardrobe, washroom with WC & basin., Sadly no shower.

Its a pop top with limited headroom, Thats a compromise.
And its 1200kg laden. Thats a HUGE compromise when you need something under 900kg.
Limited headroom Nooooooooo! You have ample headroom wherever it is possible to stand upright. You'vo obviously never been in one!
Provided the laden weight is under 100%, the actual running weight could be much less. The van allows for 300kg contents, far more than most vans. You'd be hard pushed to put that much in any caravan.
Take a look at the new Venus caravan range from the Lunar group, it will have to be either a new one, or just about a year old, as thats when they were first launched.
Basic, lightweight caravans with a decent level of spec for an entry level caravan, and designed to be towed by most small family cars, they claim that the smallest two berth version can be towed by most super-minis!

Our first caravan was an Elddis Breeze which was around 900kg fully laden, it was pre 1990 and quite basic but comfortable and warm, we had some great holidays in it. we still see some similar vans around on sites now and I think that you could drop on one for a reasonable price.
