Mass in service is empty weight or kerbweight so add weight of fuel & passengers & you are ok to tow 'van of all up weight of 1250kg, it will be around 85% of weight of car on road.

That's good, what I was trying to get at, was the various figures people have plucked off various sites, and they are all different!

This outfit is more like 90% of his kerbweight   
Caravan 1250 KG
Car 1395KG (This car can pull 1500kg)

But i would not tow more then the kerbweight of the Car.

well thanks tents for clesring it up i worked the towing weight out at 87% with all extras on car etc,will be changing this year and probably get an insignia (1600kg)to tow with and good on mpg too
