i have a erdie 122 and a standard gate in my back garden
i stand trailer on end and carry it through no problem and have done for last 2 years

I just took the whole hitch lock off of my trailer everytime and then refitted it when I wanteds to use it.

As it was only ever needed every few weeks / months this was not a major problem to me.
