Julia, we have a 1.9 CDTi SRi (150) and have been all over the country from Scotland down to Cornwall and Devon and have never had a problem, the vectra is a great car to tow with, it's just a pity that they dont make them anymore, if they did I wouldn't be asking this question.

Kuga petrol uses the Duratec V6 engine, nevermind a caravan then the power of this will pull a house down.

The petrol Kuga is a straight 5 cylinder turbo charged engine

Ford Kuga 2.5 Titanium

A niche product, but the petrol Kuga is every bit as good as its diesel counterpart

We pay £190 per year, hardly the highest road tax band!  Ours is a 2L TCDi Titanium.  Pulls really well.
