I'd love to know who named mine - the Toyota Granvia. Not a clue what it means but it's so odd that even many insurance companies have never heard of it

A Spanish name for a Jap car?? It does make sense though when split into two parts. The vehicle itself is a bit of a 'crossbreed', ie a Hiace Powervan body with a Landcruiser engine.
The one car name which bugs me is the Touareg - I can't even pronounce it mind understand what it means, and even worse some idiot gave that name to a tent!

Ford names easily transpose- Mundano, Bogus, Fiasco?
The new Vauxhall SUV-Mokka-that's coffee? Using numbers (peugot 306 etc, saab 93,95) probably a safe bet as they are unlikely to be rude words in other languages.
Although Toyota MR2 is an MR in France, as M-R deux sounds like "merde" in french!!! Whoops!
------------- DS-There's more to life than football!!!
My current drives,
Range Rover it does exactly what it says on the tin.
Greeves Silverstone (replica). Well it is a race bike
Suzuki GSX1100EFE commonly referred to as an Effie

I know someone who had a sticky letter 'T' and covered it over some car names merely as a joke and then took a photo of it. The one was a Citroen 'Crosser' and covered the 'C' with the 'T' and the other was a Renault 'Clio' and covered the 'O' with the 'T'. The ladies didn't find it very funny though.
One of our officers has one of those funny little nissans, within a day of it turning up on the car park and with some cleverly applied tape it became a Nissan Joke (or shi**y) as its affectionately known

the idea is there, its named after the founder of opel, Adam Opel. works with the Ferrari Enzo, not so well for a GM car though.
am I the only one that finds the standard trim level names rediculous. "Jam, Glam and Slam" really...
About time they aimed a small car at men, all the ones around at the moment are just so Girly, with curves, shiny bits etc, or for 18y/o "hot hatch" types... [\rant]
Renault Wind--gusting, gale force, light or maybe even trapped
