Hi

I'm looking for a replqcement for me beloved mondeo estate, I need a car that will seat 3 cars seats on the back without any bother, I like the look of the S-Max but they are a bit out of my price range in the years/Mileage parameters I have.

can anyone suggest a good alternative that will pull the sames weights as a mondeo?

The Volvo V70 is an estate car and probably worth considering as that's about the same size car as a Mondeo although the Volvo may have a slightly heavier kerbweight which would be a bonus for towing.

Another mondeo? They are very difficult to better. volkswagon passat possibly but I don't think they have quite the equivalent towing limits.

The rwason I was looking at the s msx wss the wide hip it has. It would mean that I can get 3 child seats on the back seat. I can't do thst in my current Mondeo.

Buy the rights seats and 3 wont be an issue.

Vauxhall zafira, we've just bought a new one for my wife whos a childminder, the second row of seats will hold 3 full size child seats  just !!!

Not sure what weight your van is

The grand picasso will fit them as well

Zafira is too light. Ive got a 2004 sterling Eccles moonstone to pull which the Mondeo will do easily. Looks like I need to stRt saving.

What about the VW touran ??

I can deffo recomend the s max i had one from new for 4 years, a brilliant car and very heavy coming in at 1750 kgs

Which touran did you have. As the ones ive seen weigh in at 1600kg. Not heavy enough. The superb isnt hippy enough and at the years im looking at an s max is the same price. Any one got the winning euromillions numbers?

have you Thought about a BMW 520d Auto, or and Merc E220 Cdi.

Both should give you the space and be excellent tow cars with plenty of new and used ones about.

when you say Mondeo is it Mk 1 /2/ 3 petrol or Diesel , 1600 2000 or 2.5 V6 , personally i have owned a 2.5 V6 but i now have a 2004 2000 TDCI estate , so i cant really answer

Its a 56 plate mondeo zetec 2.0 140bhp diesel estate.
