We are due to travel from Sheffield to Pickering on Friday on out first outing in our new caravan! Just watched the local news and they said there is not snow east of A1 is this the case anyone? What are the roads like up in North Yorkshire?

none here but if you`re going to get snow anywhere it will be in the pickering area.particulary once you get to the north east of there on the moors road to whitby.

What about between Ripon and Harrogate, along the A61?

We're going to Ripley on Thursday for Easter. (Still Hopeful)

At Harrogate showground now.Remains of heavy weekend snow still around on back roads but main roads clear.Melt-water is freezing in places.A66 area is still quite bad and very windy! Looks like more snow lying the further west you go.Had snow-flurries all day so dont write it off just yet.Take care out there!!!

Forecast for the Yorkshire and Humber region is for a mainly dry weekend with winds easing but remaining very cold, which is welcome news compared to how it has been.

Been working in Harrogate area all day including site at Rudding Park ...I think the soft ground in this area may be well and truly water-logged with a covering of snow to catch you out should you dare to put a wheel on it!!! Came back up to Newcastle pm today..Scotch corner a66 to cumbria suffering from deep snow and high winds causing drifting.Lot of snow in Barnard castle area and very soggy land underneath the snow up through Durham. A68 Darlington to Corbridge..plenty of snow lying about and strong winds causing drifts on the road. Any sites involving grass pitches will probably not let you on...I have had a good look around as wanting to get away myself this weekend.Lake District report anybody??
