I've been searching for a ford mondeo 2.0 tdci 130 bhp, 06 to 07 with a maximum budget of £3000. How difficult can it be ?????
Can't find anything I want on ebay, autotrader, gumtree of preloved.
Any more websites I could try ?
Nah I'm up against greedy traders asking stupid money for high mailers. Now I'm not ruling out a high miler but the prices these dealers are asking just takes the p*as..... No my problem is that the private ads are just to few and far between and by the time contact the seller they're sold !!
Can't see a problem with some of the dealer offerings if they have the vehicle you want and the privates don't but to be honest this is exactly the type of car you will find at car auctions - BCA, Aston Barclay etc. You will get the best deal and more backup than from buying private.
If you buy from an auction your budget will be around £2500 for the car, then add auction commission, cash or c/card handling fee /storage until you collect the car or delivery of car. This will bring you up to around £3000
The 130PS model is a bit harder to come by. Maybe if you widened your search to include the 115PS which is in abundant supply or considered something a little older. The 130 was launched around 2003 so you could get the model you want if a little older. If you got an older high mileage one that has had the dmf and injectors replaced it could be a better car altogether.
It is frustrating. I haven't started my search for an actual car yet. I am still trying to find something to pull the bast of a caravan I have found but none of them will be within the 85% rule.
I hope you find something soon.

Really? There's a Mondeo TDCi ST up the road from me on ebay at a dealer for 3k. It's a 06 and quite tempted by it myself.
They are out there, you've just got to look further a field maybe?
I paid £1050 for a 52 TDCi 130 ghia x mondeo last year from a dealer. 100K, full service history, twin eleccy towbar, new tyres and new clutch/flywheel. Receipts for over £1100 of work done 2 months before I bought it.
Why a Ford, the skoda superb 1.9 130 will tow your van and give far less problems
Why will a Skoda 1.9 give far less problems than the Mondeo, is this based on actual fact or just your opinion as you sell skodas?, I have had both and the 1.9 Superb was more expensive to service and had more problems in 3 years than the Mondeo.
Have you ever run fords for years,? I have had 4 company ford mondeos and each one did over 100,000 miles without problems, the skoda needed a new drivers seat cover with 6 months, 5 new reverse sensors in 3 years, blown turbo under warranty and problems with the alarm system. I have no problem with an opinion being expressed but bald statements should be based on facts not hearsay/biased opinions

Daft as this sounds, the ST is not type approved for towing.
I towed with auto versions of my last two cars and found them to be very good. I got the Mondeo for economy though which is always compromised with an auto to some degree.
