Guys I've recently bought an insignia vx-line tourer, I'm looking to fit a towbar. The car has factory fitted parking sensors fitted, does anyone have a tow bar fitted to a tourer with rear sensors and does it interfere with them?
I've tried speaking to various installers for a definitive answer, but nobody seems to know the answer?

Cheers folks..

Get one fitted to the front as well, you will need it for them to tow it regularly

Thanks for the constructive comments guys, appreciated but has anyone fitted a tow bar yourself with rear sensors fitted?

Skoda bob, you are a comedian who trolled the wrong thread :-D
The reason I have this car is my Octavia vRS turned out to be hopeless! A new car that was in the garage more than at my house, so the myth that skoda are now a class act is exactly that..a myth! Don't get me started on customer service either, waste of time :-( so you're right I should have fitted one to the front of the P.O.S Skoda! Now jog on.. :-)

There is always one Friday afternoon car that gets away, what was wrong with it anyway, take it to another dealer and get it sorted

After owning 4 skodas the only problems have been minor like the DMFs, and clutch master cylinders, changed them to the single systems no more problems, traded in my 237,000 mile Octavia last month for a Superb 2
My last superb had 290,000 miles and my wife took it over and put another 150,000 on it before it was traded in by her for another

If its the injectors your having problems with, there is an official recall and they are replaced free of charge, all skoda info can be found on briskoda.co.uk

I'm a member on Briskoda Bob and have been for years, spent most of my time in the octavia 2 forums. I knew they weren't perfect cars as I had read about all the common issues...but mine turned out to be an utter lemon! DMF, DPF, turbo, fuel rail, knocking suspension..got totally p*ssed off with it so traded it in for the insignia, which has been faultless so far, the only thing that isn't great with the insig is the fuel, 45mpg combined..
I know I had a bad experience with the skud, but I don't feel the need to troll every thread that mentions them to spout nonsense, maybe its called maturity? Ha.. Anyways, glad to hear your ones have served you better ;-)

So anyone fitted a tow bar to a VX-line tourer with rear sensors? Ha..

As an aside, I would recommend a removable bar as the Insignia tourer has a deep boot especially with the curve of the rear. To save shins I would recommend a removable bar.

I was thinking of a removable bar for asthetics reasons anyway bud. I am a bit wary as I've heard they don't work that great with tow bar bike racks? I've not bought the rack yet, but we now need to use this option as we're carrying 4 bikes now..
Thanks for the input ;-)

Thule bike racks are usually fine on swan neck balls as the flange type are very rare across the channel.

I assume you not trying to carry bikes on the towbar & the caravan at the same time.
