Hi guys.
We will be traveling from Edinburgh towards Filey in a couple of weeks. I mentioned this to a colleague who warned me of a road on this journey that has an HGV/Caravan restriction. Can anyone offer any more precise information so I can organize my directions.

The road you want to avoid is the A170 just east of Thirsk (Sutton Bank), you also have a steep bank up the A171 near Guisbrough.

Best bet is staying on the A1 until you get to the A64 (just past York) and folow this to Scarbough then down to Filey.

Yes, as ST1100 says, caravans are prohibited on Sutton Bank.
