I've got a few problems.! Can you please look at these pictures and explain how to fit the stabiliser as when I put it on the main pivot joint was underneath the towbar which I know isn't right. Am I missing a part?
Was the bracket under the towball already fitted to the vehicle then you bought a leaf spring stabiliser separately afterwards thinking it will fit? If it is then I know the answer.
looks to me like you have two completely different items/types .by bodging it to make it work (if at all possible) you will not only endanger yourself but others on the road .get a complete set up either new or used ,but COMPLETE
I bought both separate, but both were listed as for blade stabiliser? Does that help at all?
Thanks, Danny
Yes now I know where your problem is. Basically you have to buy the stabiliser with the towbar plate as a package because the two parts are compatible to operate together. The problem you have is that the plate below the towball has the access slot facing straight back and the leaf stabiliser has an arm that fits in sideways which means that the two are not compatible with each other. The leaf stabiliser I see has a Towsure sticker on it but it looks very much like the Breckland stabiliser so the plate below the towball should have the access slot 90 degrees as to what is fitted. The plate that is actually fitted is for the Bulldog leaf stabiliser as the access slot is the opposite way round and this stabiliser fits straight in and not at a 90 degree angle. The link below shows a Bulldog stabiliser and if you see how it fits into the plate you will see that it is identical as to what is fitted to your vehicle. So basically the leaf stabiliser you have is no good therefore you need a Bulldog one to fit the plate

Well done Tango
Thanks Steve for that but at least it should solve the OP's problem now. I only know this because a few years back my brother had the 'Bulldog' stabiliser whereas I had the 'Breckland' so I know for fact that the two fittings are completely different. The screw clamp on the Bulldog bracket is on the right side (as shown in the photo) but the Breckland is at the front which is the bracket needed for the actual stabiliser that's shown in the photo. So basically the OP has three options here which is to either change the bracket to suit the spring arm, change the spring arm to suit the bracket or replace with a complete compatible unit completely.
