Depends how much space they want, Do they need 7 full sized adult seats and luggage space?
The thing to watch is the gross laden weight.
Cannot think what vehicle it was now. But it was mentioned on here some time back. Add 6 adult/teenage passengers and they would have to pack a light lunch and 1 change of underwear only. Anything more could have taken them over the vehicles gross laden weight.
Recommend? Budget? Requirements?
7 Seats a pack of wolf hounds and bikes, Kitchen sink and... etc.
What is the weight of the caravan? We use a Galaxy 2.0 diesel which weighs around 1730kg, would that be heavy enough? If they have a post 1997 licence they would have to be very careful with the gross train weights to keep within the limits.

7 seats would only be required occasionally and never when towing, not sure of budget but let's say between £5,000 to £10,000 and looking for recommendations with must hass of auto gearbox and cruise control.
Our Galaxy is an automatic but does not have cruise control, it's a 2011 model Zetec and you had to buy the Titanium to get cruise control. They keep changing the spec on these cars so some years they come with extras and the next year the extra you wanted becomes an option, usually as part of a pack, that you can't afford.
I'm on the look out for an S-Max or a Santa Fe - the automatic Santa Fe is lovely and does come in both a 5 and 7 seat version. They could also have a look at the Sharan and the Seat Alhambra
We've just been down that same route and are going for a BMW x5 as we have a very heavy van. Had the van of been lighter we too would have gone for the Santa Fe ...lovely car
Before I got my 10 plate Mondeo, I nearly got a 6 month old 60 plate S_Max Zetec.
The thing that put me off was the bits of spec that were missing.
It had Bluetooth & front & rear parking sensors, however no Cruise Control or even a parcel shelf unless you went to Titanium spec. A Mondeo Edge had both cruise & a parcel shelf.
I had a 2007 S max that had no parking sensors or cruise contol but a parcel shelf it also had front and rear electric windows. No point having the parking sensors on the S max i'll tell you now were ever you park your rear end will be hanging out
