Towing car and van over 3500kg- categories 'be' required

b+e on a pre 97 licence allows a vehicle upto 3,500kg pulling any weight trailer so long as the trainweight of the towing vehicle isnt exceeded . could be 12 ton trainweight with the right tow vehicle.

Renewed as in the photo? That doesnt count.

When did you pass your driving test? If it was after 1997 then the 3500kg limit applies and also you cannot tow more than the cars UNLADEN kerbweight.

The 3500kg limit is not a problem for most standard cars/estates etc. But larger 4x4's may go over.

If you renew your licence at 70 the B+E entitlement is not automatically renewed.

I passed pre1997 so I have 'be' on my licence so all is good,it was renewed because it had expired

if you renew at 70yr old you should retain the b+e its the c1and c1+e they remove . and the d,s as well.
if they do remove b+e get right back to them .
thats why 5ers are ideal for over 70,s .big payloads and no medicals with the right outfit.
