Tows like a dream. Only done a few trips so far but no problems. Brand new so solo mpg not brilliant just yet, did get 40mpg last week on the motorrway. Really stable, towed on a very windy day, 2nd run in new van and only just returned to towing so stuck to 50mph on dual carriage way. No drag when being overtaken by lorries. Not many hills round here but the few we have come across have breezed up in 5th. Boot not huge but enough for dayto day stuff, weekly shop etc. Loads of leg room in the back. If you are buying new ask about "Partners", not sure if it is a Vauxhall thing or a dealer thing. We got an additional 8% off due to who we work for, the list was huge.

Hi we have had the Antara now for 7 months and apart from acceptable fuel economy considering its a 2.2 ltr is absolutely brilliant. got 6k on clock now and beginning to get about 32 - 36 mpg around time, and about 45 on motorway if travelling sensibly. As for towing its steady as a rock our van is 1300kgs loaded, and no problems we get about 27mpg towing.
As above boot is not too big but gets a weekly shop in no problems. Also has no spare wheel. If thinking about it a tow bar we ordered from PF Jones in Manchester £105.00 and the dedicated wiring from "Right Connections" £45.00 i think. (just Google this) as its much cheaper than ordering with towbar as its straight from maker. Tow bar is an easy DIY fit took me about an hour (no bumper removal or cutting just bolting in and cable tie the wiring), and the wiring is literally one plug.
Go for it, i consider it to be one of the best cars i have had in the last 28 yrs.

How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
Thanks for that. Our vans are more or less the same, so that's great info. I must admit I did not know that the Antara does not have a spare, I thought that was just in the Chevrolet Captiva. Have you bought a spare ?
------------- XVI yes?

No, it comes with a puncture repair kit, son has used similar in past. I think it's an internal sealant. Son drives a lot and he couldn't get tyre fixed for over a week and had no problems! If we had a blow out we'd just get the RAC to get us home.

Hi sorry for the late reply ours is the 163 bhp, and like issym says pull like a train. i too have to remind ones self the van is on the back. However just as a matter of course, we had to have a rear tyre changed recently due to a nail / screw stuck in the portion of tyre that cannot be repaired, i.e shoulder, wait for it £184.00 fitted quick fit. Stung the purse strings abit after only 6k.
