not quite true . my mini artic is classed as a motor tractor and could pull two trailers .
if it was heavier it could be a locomotive then it could pull three trailers .
i dont mot my truck as it is for pulling my trailer which is a living van under 3,500kg gvw as it carries m,bikes in the back is classed as a living van.
you dont have to be in the showmans guild to use the rules .just abide by them .
many m,homes will be getting problems soon as they have space big enough to carry goods or burden . if over 3,500kg gvw could be living vans that require a mot that isnt for m,homes . ie.class4 .they could be class 7 .
there again there really is no showmans licence. we all have the same rules .
exactly the same rules apply to me and you .
unfortunately folk do seem to think showman can do as they wanmt but they cant . i,m not a showman but use the rules and abide by them .
I ran into some problems a few years back when I used to work in heavy recovery work. Some police forces stopped me when I was towing arctics with trailer attached.the wrecker I had was classed as a locomotive weighing 28 tons and plated to tow 80tons so could legally tow 44 tons.most plods just don't know the law.
